I use abstract art and photography together in the same work. Each has their own meaning in my work. My abstract art represents the spiritual world. My photography represents the physical world.

The photographs I use in my work are mostly photographs I have taken. They are photographs from my past. They are in my artwork to document in my work the world that once was. By combining these photographs with my abstract art, I am visualizing what is going to eventually happen to the world that once was, when humanity eventually evolves spiritually and the world changes dramatically. This new world (to be) is represented in my work by merging my abstract art and my photography. The photographic elements in my work show that the new world (to be) will have some similarities to the world that once was. But the world of the future will at the same time be a very different place. Because the human beings in the world of the future will be very different. This is what my work envisions when I mix my photography with my abstract art.

I use drawing, painting, collage and sculpture and a visual language of abstract faces, forms, symbols, shapes and lines to create the abstract art in my work.

My abstract art represents human beings of the past, present and future. My abstract art also represents humanity collectively. My abstract art and photography play off each other. This interplay gives my work a sense of energy, movement and spirituality. The energy is the energy of the universe nudging humanity forward. The movement is human beings moving to the future. The spirituality is human beings spiritually evolving as they move to the future. Eventually humanity will evolve to the point where a historical event will occur. There will be a quantum leap in human consciousness. The physical and spiritual worlds will seem to merge. Human beings will be able to connect to the spiritual world from the physical world and live in two worlds at once. They will be able to learn great truths in the spiritual world and bring them back to the physical world and with their newfound knowledge build a new human world. Using abstract art and photography together in the same work symbolizes for me the future merging of the physical and spiritual worlds that will occur when human beings reach the next step in human evolution.
